Battlefield 6 Open Beta – Weekend Two Updates
The second Battlefield 6 Open Beta weekend introduces fresh game modes, daily playlist rotations, and the debut of a new Custom Search feature.
The first beta weekend attracted huge participation on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players experienced large-scale battles in All-Out Warfare, exploring both Conquest and Breakthrough while putting various weapons, vehicles, and gadgets to the test.
Early feedback highlighted the impressive scope of matches but also asked for more variety and matchmaking control. EA and DICE reported that the event went beyond expectations and provided valuable insights for launch preparation. Now, the second weekend arrives with key updates.
Custom Search makes its first appearance
The standout addition this time is the Custom Search tool. While it’s not a full server browser, it lets you choose specific map-and-mode combinations when matchmaking. For example, selecting only Conquest on Siege of Cairo will make the game prioritize that setup. For the beta, this option is available exclusively in Open Weapon playlists, but it’s an early step toward more personalized matches.
Expanded playlists and daily rotations
Week two brings more variety with rotating daily playlists:
- All-Out Warfare: Includes Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush in a single queue.
- Close Quarters: Focuses on smaller maps with Domination, King of the Hill, and Squad Deathmatch.
Training Grounds remains available for practicing and testing weapons. Initiation Mode, aimed at players under rank 15, offers AI-assisted matches that rotate between Breakthrough and Conquest. A short, non-playable Rush tutorial is also included for new players.
Beta schedule
The second Open Beta weekend will run from Thursday, August 14 at 08:00 UTC through Sunday, August 17. After this session ends, the next chance to play will be the full release on October 10, which will include refinements based on the beta’s results.
